Are you looking for brunch options but don’t know where to start? Barcelona is a city that has fantastic gastronomy, and as it adapts to the global trends, you can now find restaurants that offer brunch anywhere you look, which can be a bit overwhelming when you are trying to decide. Although it used to be a tradition limited to the weekends, nowadays most of the places offer it during the week too. This is a compilation of some of the brunch places we like!

Citizen Café

Citizen Café is a restaurant that has brunch every day from 9AM till 16PM and offers food that is influenced by gastronomy of all over the world in an approach that they like to call #globalmeetslocal or #localmeetsglobal ! Plus, it has a very privileged location in the city centre! 

 We recommend: Cazuelita Ranchera, where Mexico meets the USA.

Where? Plaça d’Urquinaona 4, 08010.

How to get there? Urquinaona station (L1 & L4).

Opening Hours? Monday to Friday 8AM – 11PM // Saturdays 9AM – 11PM // Sundays 9AM – 4PM.

Eatmytrip Brunch & Bakery Barcelona

Eatmytrip Brunch & Bakery Barcelona is a restaurant that specializes in fusion food, that serves breakfast, brunch, and food for any moment! They have a vast array of homemade cakes too, and serve specialty coffee. They cook food so creative it will leave you in awe.

We recommend: Bagel with salmon tartar, dill cream cheese, coleslaw, cucumber and red onion.

Where? Carrer del Consell de Cent, 378, 08009.

How to get there? Girona station (L4).

Opening Hours? Monday to Sunday 9AM-5PM.

Firebug

 Firebug is a place that wants to recreate the elegance of going out to eat, making it a special occasion that still welcomes everybody, from businessmen to students. Plus, the place itself is already very stylish, making for a nice visit. What a good way to start the day, especially if you need to recover from a night out! Their Brunch is available everyday until 4:30PM.

We recommend: Their deviled eggs with crab.

Where? Passeig de Sant Joan 23, 08010.

How to get there? Arc de Triomf station (L1).

Opening Hours? Monday to Friday 10AM-2AM // Saturday and Sunday 9AM- 2AM .

OMA Bistró

OMA Bistró Barcelona cooks mostly with local products. They have a big range of brunch dishes such as french toast, eggs Benedict, sandwiches, bagels, cakes, among others, and of course, vegetarian options! We suggest you accompany your meal with a delicious Bloody Mary. Plus, the ambience given by the interior design is very chill and friendly. What a good way to start the day.

We recommend: Their oreo cake.

How to get there? Universitat station (L1 & L2) or Urgell station (L1).

Monday to Friday 9AM-9PM // Saturday and Sunday 10:00AM- 7PM .

Alsur Café

This is one of our favourite places. Alsur Café is Based on the#LQQCQ philosophy (Lo que quieras, cuando quieras/ what you want, whenever you want it), this place serves a variety of dishes that can be enjoyed at any moment of the day. We believe they are specially perfect for brunch as they serve waffles, pancakes, eggs, burgers and sandwiches, among other brunch classics. Plus, it has many locations throughout the city, so it makes it easier to actually eat what you want, whenever you want it!

We recommend: They recently updated their menu and our favourite thing up until today is their Double-Meat Churronut-Burger, the perfect mixture of savory and sweet.

2. Roger de Llúria 23, 08010.
3.Sant Pere Més Alt 4, 08003.

How to get there? 
1. Jaume 1 (L4).
2. Urquinaona (L1 & L4).

1. Monday to Thursday 11:15AM-00:30PM // Friday 11:15AM- 3AM // Saturday 10AM- 3AM // Sunday 10AM – 12:30PM.

2. Monday through Wednesday 8AM – 12AM // Thursdau 8AM – 1AM // Friday 8AM – 3AM // Saturday 9AM – 3AM Sunday 9AM – 12:00AM.

3. Sunday & Monday 10 AM – 1AM // Tuesday & Wednesday 10 AM – 1:30AM // Thursday 10 AM – 2AM // Friday & Saturday 10AM -3AM.

La Desayunería

La Desayunería is a place that specializes in different kinds of breakfasts, but it serves it all day and we think it’s the perfect place to have either breakfast or brunch! There are many options, all that look and taste amazing ! And it’s open everyday!

We recommend: Absolutely everything but if we need to point out something, probably their Manchito’s Tail.

Where? There are two locations:
1. Carrer del Comte Borrell, 75, 08015.
2. Carrer del Comte d’Urgell, 260, bajo 2, 08036.

How to get there? 
1. Get off at Sant Antoni (L2) station.
2. Get off at Hospital Clinic (L5).

Opening Hours? 
1. Monday to Friday 8AM-8PM // Sat & Sun 9AM- 8PM.

2. Tuesday to Friday 7:30AM – 8PM // Saturday 9AM- 8PM // Sunday 9AM – 4PM // Monday 7:30AM – 4PM.

Federal Café

Federal Café serves brunch Tuesday to Friday until 1PM, Saturdays until 4PM and Sundays all day long. They like to remind you that healthy food can be very tasty too, and they prove it with their amazing dishes!

We recommend: Their toasts with mascarpone and berries!

Where? There are two locations:
1. C/ Parlament 39, 08015.
2. Passatge de la Pau 11, 08002.

How to get there? 
1. Get off at Sant Antoni (L2) or Poble Sec (L3) stop.
2. Get off at Drassanes (L3).

Opening Hours? 
1. Monday to Thursday 8AM-11PM // Friday 8AM- 1AM // Saturday 9AM- 1AM // Sunday 9AM – 5:30PM.

2. Monday through Thursday 9AM – 12AM // Friday & Saturday 9AM- 1AM // Sunday 9AM – 5:30PM.

El Árbol Brunch

El Arbol Brunch, as the name says it, specializes in brunch. They pride themselves on taking a more contemporary view on it, and presents a vast menu that will definitely meet your taste, in a rustic inspired ambience that will make you feel at home.

Their menu ranges from basically everything you could imagine of a brunch: scrambled eggs, eggs Benedict, salmon toast, pancakes, and much more.

We recommend: Basically everything, but we love their eggs Benedict.

2. Passeig de Sant Joan, 33, 08010.

How to get there? 
1. Get off at the Universitat stop (L1 & L2).
2. Get off at Arc de Triomf (L1).

Pudding is special because it’s the perfect place to visit with your kids, your nephew or niece, your siblings, or simply your friends. This coffee shop is based on the Eat+Play+Think philosophy that promotes doing precisely that, in a very fun and playful environment.

Their menu ranges from sandwiches and cakes, to more specialized brunch dishes. You will surely find your favourite brunch option within their extensive menu!

This venue is decorated in a very extravagant and colorful manner, creating a world of their own, and you can be a part of it. Don’t miss a chance to be a part of their family!

We recommend: Their vast array of cakes.
