Primavera Sound is considered to be one of the world’s best music festivals because of its impressive lineup that never fails to amaze music lovers. Each year, around 200.000 people come in pilgrimage to the city of Barcelona in the name of music. The thing about Primavera Sound is that not only does it has performances by great artists, but also, it is incredibly well organized and boasts of a beautiful view of the Mediterranean that will take visitors’ breath away.
This is a simple but necessary guideline in order to hack your visit to Primavera Sound 2019, and have the best of times!
Pick-up your wristband beforehand
We suggest you go and exchange your tickets for festival wristbands at least the day before, in order to avoid complications and queues. Don’t forget an ID in order to get your wristband. The available spots for this year’s festival (2019) are as following:
APOLO (Nou de la Rambla, 111)
Monday 27th and Tuesday 28th May from 14:00 to 22:00
PARC DEL FÒRUM
Wednesday 29th May from 12:00 to 23:00
Thursday 30th, Friday 31st May and Saturday 1st June from 12:00 to 03:00
Bring an ID to the festival!
Don’t forget to bring with you an identity card or passport as you will need to show it if required by security staff on the Parc del Fòrum site. If you are not a Spanish citizen, you can bring copies of your official ID papers.
Forget about bringing these things:
The following items are not permitted on the site of the festival: motorbike helmets, large suitcases, bags and backpacks, bottles, cans, sprays and aerosols, laser pointers, professional photo and video equipments, drones and arms of any kind.
You can bring smaller backpacks and compact cameras, though.
Water is allowed!
The only drink that is allowed within the site is water, but it needs to be in a plastic bottle without a lid.
You can’t buy cigarettes inside!
Buy them beforehand if you want to smoke.
There’s a cloakroom inside the site!
If you feel like maybe you brought too many extra stuff, you can put it away for a small fee, of course.
Mind the fashion AND the weather
This is an event in which everyone wants to look their best in tune with the current trends, but you should also mind the weather forecast: we don’t want you to get wet! Thankfully, this year’s forecast announces warm days without rain (2019). We suggest you get ready for a sunny day, but bring with you a light jacket as there will probably be a windy night, and the festival runs until 6am.
Eat out, bring food or taste the amazing offer inside.
Barcelona is a city that is filled with amazing gastronomic options, so you can have a hearty meal before heading to the festival, but also, there are always plenty of options within the site. Check the variety available on the picture below. If you want to save money, you can always plan your meals ahead and bring food with you, as it is allowed.
Take a nice nap the Spanish way.
Some of the acts last uptil 6am, so you should be well rested, or, if you like taking risks, be prepared to feel completely devastated and in urgent need of sleep the days after Primavera Sound.
Plan Ahead: There will be schedule conflicts.
We all know there are clashes of bands, so be prepared to possibly let go of something and still have an amazing time. Also, sometimes the two artists you want to see consecutively are playing in stages that are very far from each other. In these cases we suggest you download the map of the site and plan your routes a day before.
Make the most of the stages.
Check all the stages if you can, as each one of them have a different vibe and offer unique experiences.
When you are there, use your pauses to check Primavera Sound’s social media, as surprise gigs are announced throughout the festival! You wouldn’t want to miss a surprise show by an artist you love!
Watch out for pickpockets.
This is self-explanatory. Don’t let this amazing experience end up with a bitter taste.
This year, there will be a shuttle bus going to Plaza Catalunya until 5am on Thursday and Friday nights. The tram service will run non-stop from Thursday until Sunday. If you want to go by bike, there are two parking areas nearby. Remember the subway is open all night on Saturdays!
Nobody is Normal: Primavera Sound is an inclusive and safe place.
The festival wants “to be a space that is free from gender-based violence and discrimination” , so there are two spots in which you can report any kind of violence that is gender based you suffer or witness.
Lower your environmental impact.
There will be spots in which you can recycle and separate your waste accordingly.
Enjoy the music!
And remember, don’t get lost cause there are slim chances you will be able to find your friends again for hours, unless you want to, of course.
